Rookie of the Week - Collins was an especially efficient shooter from the floor in two wins for Salve Regina. He was 10-for-12 (83.3 percent) from the field this week starting with a 3-for-4 showing in a 64-54 win over Mount Ida. He followed that up with a 7-for-8 performance against Suffolk in a 73-64 win. He had 16 points in that contest to bring his weekly average to 11.0 points per game. In addition to Collins' hot shooting, he also averaged 5.5 rebounds per game and led all players with eight boards in the Seahawks' 73-64 win over the Rams on Sunday.
"Cam has a huge upside and tremendous potential in our program," Salve Regina head coach Sean Foster said. "He's made great strides in a short time and with hard work will be a foundation player for our future."
Salve Regina (2-2) opens its conference schedule on Wednesday when it hosts Eastern Nazarene College in a women's and men's doubleheader (5:30 and 7:30 p.m.) at the Rodgers Recreation Center.
