Salve Regina brought Gaudet Field online as a venue in 2009 and re-turfed in 2022. The Seahawk football program went 34-9 on the field turf over parts of nine seasons (through 2017 season-opener). It was the first home turf facility for the Seahawk field hockey squad which had hosted opponents on numerous natural grass venues in its previous 17 seasons.

Both Seahawk soccer programs have enjoyed success on the turf while Salve Regina men's lacrosse won the 2014 ECAC Championship against Becker, 15-10.
