Salve Regina University Athletics - Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee’s role on campus is to be the voice for student athletes,SAAC Logo to promote and encourage positive changes within Salve Regina’s community that allows for optimal performance on and off the field. Our committee strides to continue the tradition of being exceptional student-athletes, recognizing social and personal growth of all the student-athletes that proudly wear the Seahawk uniform.

The NCAA believes in its “commitment to diversity, inclusion, and gender equity among its student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.”

Salve Regina University, an NCAA Division III institution, adheres to practicing these qualities within the Salve Regina University community. The role of being a Seahawk is taken very seriously as our commitments are followed on and off the court. By putting our best foot forward, we can make the transition of assisting and assuring that Salve Regina continues to promote equal opportunity for all.

As members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at Salve Regina, student-athletes serve as a liaison between the committee and their respective teams. As well as other representatives and administrators from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

As members of SAAC, student-athletes are asked to be present at meetings where they are provided with a forum centralized on matters or circumstances that concern their athletic team(s). Some of these have included: academic policies, athletic awards, Title IX, travel and meal accommodations, and University guidelines.  The true purpose of SAAC is to create and cause change that improves on the general welfare of Seahawk athletics, enhancing communication and camaraderie among our teams. SAAC involvement gives student-athletes the ability to shape and shift the landscape of what it means to be a student-athlete at Salve Regina.
