Salve Regina soccer grew up on the back-to-back pitches in the historic Fort Adams State Park in the 1980s and returned there for a brief moment in the early 2000s during the construction of Walgreen Hall on the University's Newport campus. Rugby and sailing have flourished while surrounded by a panoramic views of Newport Harbor, Narragansett Bay, and the Pell Bridge.

In the summer, the historic site hosts a pair of music festivals - Newport Folk and Newport Jazz - while attracting fans on land, sea, and air.
