NEWPORT, R.I. - The defending national champion Salve Regina
University men's rugby squad has been ranked No. 3 in the nation by
this week's National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) top
30 fall rankings.
The Seahawks, who went 8-1 during the fall, were ranked ahead of
207 programs, trailing only No. 2 St. John's University (8-0) and
No. 1 New England College (11-0) who defeated Salve Regina during
the NSCRO New England Playoffs on November 18, marking
the Seahawks first defeat since the 2010-11 campaign.
Rounding out the top 10 were No. 4 Grove City College
(7-1), No. 5 University of Wisconsin (8-3), No. 6 Colorado School
of Mines (5-0), No. 7 Colby College (7-2), No. 8 Quinnipiac
University (9-1), No. 9 Roger Williams University (4-3), and No. 10
University of Maine (7-1).
