NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (April 10, 2026) - Salve Regina University softball fell in both games of a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) against Smith College on Friday afternoon, 3-1 and 9-1, the latter in six innings with the Bears scoring five runs in their last at bat.
Taylor Ferraiolo (Madison, Conn.) scored on a wild pitch in the sixth inning of Game 1 for the lone Seahawk run.
Abby Merck (Lorton, Va.) had a pair of singles in the opener. In Game 2,
Gracie Keyes (Portsmouth, R.I.) went 3-for-3 and drove in Ferraiolo with the game-tying run in the top of the third.
Emily Cronin (Coventry, R.I.) also had a pair of singles in the nightcap.
The Seahawks return to Toppa Field on Saturday, April 11, to host Wellesley College in a NEWMAC doubleheader with a 2 p.m. first pitch.
