BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team continued its unbeaten record in The Commonwealth Coast Conference with a 7-2 win Wednesday afternoon against Salve Regina University.
David Lange (Great Neck, N.Y.) grabbed a pair of wins, defeating Steve Masso 6-2, 7-6 at #2 singles to go along with an 8-6 win at #1 doubles with Dan Kleitz (Wethersfield, Conn.) over Masso and Andrew Martin. Kleitz also won his singles match, a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Zachary Rosenfeld.
Jeff DeNunzio (Barrington, R.I.) picked up his second #1 singles win in as many days, beating Martin 7-5, 6-1, while Kyle Baker (Bolton, Conn.) won his sixth straight singles match, defeating Brian Castrichini 6-2, 6-1 at #6. Jason Pacino (North Reading, Mass.) gave RWU its fifth singles win, taking a 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 #5 match over Aaron Isch.
At #3 doubles, Baker and Nate Rohman (Topsham, Maine) improved to 6-0 in TCCC with an 8-2 win over Isch and Castrichini.
Chad Strong was a part of both of the Seahawks' wins, as he defeated Kevin Erikson (Tolland, Conn.) 6-1, 6-1 at #4 singles. He also paired up with Zachary Rosenfeld for an 8-4 win at #2 doubles over Erikson and Nicholas Hawvermale (Bethlehem, Conn.).
Roger Williams (9-6, 6-0 TCCC) heads to Regis College Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. match, while Salve Regina (4-9, 2-2 TCCC) will be at Wentworth Institute of Technology Saturday at noon.
