The two teams battled to a 9-9 tie in the opening set before Endicott went on a 6-1 run to open up a 15-10 advantage. The Seahawks were unable to catch the Gulls the rest of the way, as EC held on for a 25-19 first set victory. The Gulls broke out to an early 6-0 lead in the second set, including a pair of aces by sophomore Callie Dolan (Westford, Mass.). Leading 6-1, the Gulls erupted with a 10-2 run to open up a 16-3 advantage, before cruising to a 25-17 win. Barbour had four kills in just seven total attacks for EC, while Tauro compiled 9 digs in the set for the Seahawks.

Endicott led 13-11 midway through the third set but the Seahawks refused to go away quietly. Salve Regina went on a 12-0 run to grab a 23-13 lead before Adams recorded back-to-back kills to close out the set, 25-16. Barry paced the Seahawks during the frame with five kills and three blocks to force a fourth set.

The fourth and final frame was a terrific battle which featured 17 ties and seven lead changes. The Seahawks held a 24-22 lead, but were stymied on two set points by consecutive kills from Torelli to tie the score at 24-all. The Gulls were then rejected on three straight match-point opportunities; twice by kills from Adams. However, the Seahawks were unable to stop the Gulls on a fourth match-point chance, as the Gulls held on to take the frame by a score of 29-27 to seal the 3-1 match victory.

The Gulls have earned a bye in the first round of the CCC Tournament, while the Seahawks will host a playoff match for the first time on Tuesday at 7 p.m. with a quarterfinal match up versus Wentworth.
