Salve Regina falls to Endicott in CCC semifinals

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's volleyball team claimed a 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-16) victory over Salve Regina in the CCC Semifinals to advance to the conference championship match for the second straight year, as well as its seventh time in the last eight seasons.

The Gulls (15-14) rallied after falling behind 21-18 in the first set to win 25-23 over the Seahawks (16-13) before taking sets two and three by identical scores of 25-16.

For Salve, sophomore outside hitter Clare Adams (New Concord, Ohio) led the Seahawks with seven kills while senior middle hitter Julianne Barry (Randolph, Mass.) added six kills to just two errorsJill Diffendaffer (Centennial, Colo.) added four kills in the loss while blocking three Endicott attacks.

Endicott's leading attacker in the semifinal match was junior outside hitter Falyn Torelli (Pelham, N.Y.) who matched a season-high of 13 kills to just three errors.  Callie Dolan (Westford, Mass.) was the only other player in the match to reach double digit kills as the sophomore totaled 10.

Middle hitters Hannah Dahlgren (Queensbury, N.Y.) and Elyse Barbour (Greenville, R.I.) were also effective on the attack with eight and six kills, respectively.  Dahlgren committed just one error on 21 attempts for a .333 hit percentage.  She also had three block assists at the net.

Endicott setter Sarah Allshouse (Berthoud, Colo.) gave a solid overall performance with 35 assists, 11 digs, and two blocks.  Allshouse also served up four aces, including two in the final stretch of the third set.

Her counterpart, Salve Regina's Taylor Violet (Tiverton, R.I.) dished out 16 assists and had seven digs to go along with three kills.

Defensively, the Blue and Green saw junior libero Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) tally a match-high 17 digs.  Allshouse and sophomore Carly Beers (Traverse City, Mich.) each contribute with 11 and eight digs, respectively.  Salve Regina libero Dianna Tauro (Melrose, Mass.) led her squad with 13 digs, while  Adams added 11 digs.
