Box Score

SEAHAWK WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL RESULTS

Newport, R.I. - Rodgers Recreation Center
Saturday, October 28, 2017

Summary
The Salve Regina University women's volleyball team swept visiting University of New England 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-11) in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon.

Series and Streaks
The Seahawks own a 9-7 record all-time and have now won eight matches in a row over the Nor'easters.

Three Stars of the Match

  1. Salve Regina senior Samantha Salwa (Ellington, Conn.) had a match-high 29 assists, match-high five aces, seven digs, two assisted blocks, and a kill.
  2. Salve Regina junior Cassidy Trabilcy (Phoenix, Ariz.) had a match-high nine kills along with 14 digs.
  3. Salve Regina sophomore Annie Donahue (Chelmsford, Mass.) had three solo blocks, one assisted block, and six kills.

Turning Point
Leading 2-0 the Seahawks opened up the third set on an 11-0 run. Annie Donahue recorded a block and back-to-back kills to open the set. Two straight errors from the Nor'easters set up Salwa for an ace. A bad set by UNE then led to Donahue and Trabilcy each recording another kill and Samantha Salwa finish off the run with back-to-back aces forcing the Nor'easters to call for time, but the damage was done and the Seahawks led 11-0 on their way to the sweep.
