Summary
The Salve Regina University women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-20, 25-19) over visiting Connecticut College in non-conference action Tuesday evening.

Series and Streaks
The Camels own a 10-2 record all-time however the Seahawks have now won two in a row in the series. Both victories have come within the last four days as the Seahawks had defeated the Camels 3-1 on September 7 during a tournament in New London, Conn.

Three Stars of the Match

  1. Salve Regina junior Annie Donahue (Chelmsford, Mass.) had a match-high 11 kills with a .471 swing percentage as well as a block and an assisted block.
  2. Salve Regina senior Erin Proctor (Canton, Mass.) had a match-high 27 assists.
  3. Salve Regina freshman Nicole Karabaich (Greenlawn, N.Y.) knocked in nine kills, collected seven digs, a block, and assisted block.

Key Stat
The Camels had nearly as many errors as they did kills in the match, gifting the Seahawks 21 free points.

Turning Point
The Camels took a 4-2 lead in the third set, but a 5-0 run from the Seahawks, aided by two aces and two more Camels error, forced a timeout. Later an 8-4 run for the visitors brought them within a single point (16-15) forcing a Seahawks timeout. The Seahawks closed the match from that point on with a 9-4 run, capped off by three kills from Annie Donahue to secure the sweep.

Quick Hits

  • After earning their first ever victory over the Camels four days ago the Seahawks earn their first sweep in the series. The Seahawks had lost 10 matches in a row to the Camels coming into this season by a combined set score of 30-2, but have now won two with combined set scores of 6-1.
  • Emma Hewlin (Los Gatos, Calif.) paced the Camels scoring with eight kills while Grace McGee (Portland, Ore.) did the principle facilitating, handing out 16 assists. 
  • Dayna McCue (Franklin, Mass.) led the Camels defensively with 11 digs while Katie Linekin (Ridgefield, Conn.) had a match-high 12 digs for the Seahawks.
