NEWPORT, R.I. - Defending conference champion Western New England University starts in the driver's seat for the 2018 title with a 41-14 victory over Salve Regina University at Toppa Field in the Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC) opener for both schools.

Defensive back Matt Sylvia provided several highlights for the Seahawks (2-3, 0-1 CCC) including an interception and return of a blocked field goal for a touchdown.
