Seahawks score ten straight in 11-1 win over Becker

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Salve Regina University men's ice hockey team scored ten unanswered goals to top Becker College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Friday night.

FOR THE SEAHAWKS OF SALVE REGINA

·         Salve Regina sophomore forward Danny Eruzione (Winthrop, Mass. / New Jersey Junior Titans (NAHL)) led the Seahawks with two goals and four assists.

·         Sophomore forward Paul Boutoussov (Dana Point, Calif. / Valley Junior Warriors (EHL)) finished with two goals and two assists.

·         Sophomore forward Erik Udahl (East Walpole, Mass. / Coquitlam Express (BCHL)) finished with two goals and an assist.

·         Sophomore defenseman Vincenzo Renda (Wesmount, Quebec / Brooks Bandits (AJHL)) scored one goal and tallied three assists.

·         Grad Student forward Colin Clapton (Canton, Mass. / Hobart) added one goal and one assist.

·         Grad Student forward Evan Schmidbauer (San Diego, Calif. / Rio Grand (NAHL)), senior forward Shaun Patry (Penfield, N.Y. / Rochester Americans (USPHL)) and freshman forward Matthew Kidney (Leonardo, N.J. / Scranton Knights (NAHL)) each scored one goal to round out the scoring.

·         Senior goalie Blake Wojtala (Trenton, Mich. / N.Y. Apple Core (EHL)) got the win for the Seahawks, stopping 16 out of 17 shots.

·         Salve Regina outshot Becker, 66-23. 

FOR THE HAWKS OF BECKER

·         Down 1-0 just one minute into the game, Becker scored the equalizer just 23 seconds later when sophomore forward Romain Wild (Mex, Switzerland / St. Norbert) found the back of the net, assisted by freshman forward Jake Cagnina (South Berwick, Maine / Boston Junior Rangers (EHL)) and sophomore forward Aaron Deady (East Greenwich, R.I. / Cape Cod Islanders (NA3HL)).

·         Junior goalie Grant Martens (Bloomington, Minn. / Helena Bighorns (NA3HL)) recorded 43 saves in two periods.

The Hawks and Seahawks have a quick turnaround as Becker travels to Salve Regina on Saturday for a 7:05 p.m. game.
