WORCESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College men's ice hockey team lost 7-2 to visiting Salve Regina University in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Friday evening at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center in Worcester.

SCORING SUMMARY

·         The Seahawks struck first 8:21 into the game when Salve Regina freshman forward Mitch Walinski (Lincoln, R.I. / Air Force) found the back of the net on an unassisted shot for his third career goal to put the visitors ahead 1-0.

·         Salve Regina senior forward Eric Lipa (Lockport, N.Y. / Oswego State) made it 2-0 with 3:27 to go in the first period, assisted by sophomore forward George Sennott (North Andover, Mass. / Islanders Hockey Club (NCDC)) and junior forward Erik Udahl (East Walpole, Mass. / Coquitlam Express (BCHL)). That score would hold up going into the first intermission.

·         Sennott made it 3-0 with his fourth goal of the season at 3:09 into the second period, assisted by Lupa and junior defenseman Frankie Sullivan (Fairfield, Conn. / Janesville Jets (NAHL)). 

·         Less than a minute later it would be Sullivan scoring on a power play, this one unassisted and at even-strength. It was Sullivan's first goal of the season.

·         Salve Regina junior forward Danny Eruzione (Winthrop, Mass. / New Jersey Titans (NAHL)) made it 5-0 just 4:25 into the second on a power play, assisted by St. Jean and junior defenseman Vincenzo Renda (Wesmount, Quebec / Brooks Bandits (AJHL)). 

·         The Hawks finally got on the board at 8:53 into the second as Becker freshman forward Josh Mead (Sparta, N.H. / New Jersey Hitmen) scored his third career goal, assisted by junior defenseman Phil Garcia (Bronx, N.Y. / Finlandia). Becker had pulled to within 5-1.

·         With 4:02 left in the second, Walinski made it 6-1 for his third goal of the season, assisted by Renda.

·         Finally, with 1:56 left in the second, Salve sophomore forward Tyler Carangelo (Hamden, Conn. / New Jersey Hitmen (NCDC)) scored on a power play to make it 7-1, assisted by Sennott and sophomore defenseman Matthew Dillon (Grafton, Mass. / Islanders Hockey Club (NCDC)).

·         Mead would score again for the Hawks at 10:31 into the third period, assisted by freshman forward Colby Audette (Colchester, Vt. / Lewiston-Auburn Nordiques). 

BETWEEN THE PIPES

·         Becker senior goaltender Cody Foster (Saugus, Calif. / Tri-City IceHawks) was courageous in net, tallying 32 saves on the night.

·         Salve Regina goaltender Louis-Felix St. Jean (St. Bruno, Quebec / Islanders Hockey Club (NCDC)  ) picked up the win with 17 saves in 49:26.
