Three Stars of the Game

  1. Salve Regina freshman Emma Breen scored with the extra attacker on a shot from the top of the right circle to tie the game 2-2 and force overtime.

  3. UNE sophomore Delanie Corcoran (East Sandwich, Mass.) made 23 saves to fall to 4-4-1 between the pipes.

Turning Point
Meaghan Hamilton (Rutland, Vt.) scored on the powerplay early in the third to give the Nor'easters a 2-0 lead. Shortly afterwards Emma Gotthelf (West Hartford, Conn.) answered for the Seahawks when she roofed a centering pass from Maddie Cox (Barrington, R.I.) at 7:20. The Seahawks outshot the Nor'easters 15-7 in the third period but still trailed in the waning moments and were forced to pull the goaltender with 45 seconds remaining for the extra attacker. The Seahawks had one last draw in the offensive end with 17 seconds left. The Nor'easters controlled the puck but couldn't clear it as Breen held it in at the blue line then got a return pass from Cox and ripped a shot from the top of the right-wing circle to the back of the net to even things 2-2.

In overtime each team put two shots on net, but the goaltenders were up to the task and the teams finished in a draw.
