Box Score WENHAM, Mass. - Senior midfielder Nicole Smith (North Attleboro, Mass.) scored eight times, tying a single-game program record for the Salve Regina University women's lacrosse team as it defeated Gordon College 17-5 to wrap up the regular season and clinch the fourth seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) tournament.
The Seahawks never trailed, racing out to a 3-0 lead, and led 9-1 after the first quarter. Smith led all scorers with eight goals and a game-high six draw controls. Smith finished the year with 50 goals, 37 versus CCC foes which ranks first in goals scored versus conference competition.
Seven total Seahawks scored in the game with Smith and Samanatha Moleti, who notched three goals, being the only multi-goal scorers.
Grace Haesche made two saves to improve to 8-4 in net and finishes the regular season with the highest save percentage (52.9) in the CCC.
Salve Regina earns the fourth seed in the CCC Tournament and will host Nichol on Saturday, April 30 at Gaudet Field.
