Seahawks escape with 31-30 win over Cadets

Salve Regina honors over 35 seniors before final home game

NEWPORT, R.I. -- Salve Regina University football built a 31-17 advantage through three quarters but two late touchdowns by Norwich University pulled the Cadets within one point, 31-30, and that was the final score after Norwich failed on its two-point conversion in the final NEWMAC regular season contest at Toppa Field in Newport, Rhode Island, on Saturday afternoon.

History: Salve Regina and Norwich meet for the sixth time on the gridiron. The Seahawks own a 4-1 mark in the all-time series which includes three straight shutouts (38-0, 7-0, 38-0). The first-ever meeting was the 2014 ECAC Bowl Game won by the Seahawks, 48-21. At Toppa Field, the Cadets scored their only victory in the series (22-19 in 2019) and "held" the Seahawks to a 7-0 score in 2022.
