NEWPORT, R.I. -- Sophomore
Daniel Goba scored two second-half goals to lift second-seeded Salve Regina University men's soccer over third-seeded United States Coast Guard Academy, 2-1, in NEWMAC Tournament semifinal on Thursday evening at Toppa Field in Newport, Rhode Island. Goba's goals extend his conference-leading total to 14 while his point total (33) also tops the NEWMAC.
After a scoreless first half, Goba carried the ball into the box and bent a left-footed kick around John Putnam for a 1-0 lead in the 57th minute. Michael O'Brien converted a cross from Jake Fish over 18 minutes later to draw even.
Brandon Frank drew a foul in the box when he appeared to have a one-on-one scoring opportunity, and Goba nailed the penalty kick to regain the lead.

Aaron Muncaster had an unassisted goal in the 80th minute to salvage a draw for the Seahawks. This year's regular season contest at Toppa Field also ended in a 1-1 draw with Jude Sargent and
Danny Bond both heading in goals for their respective teams.
