Seahawks celebrate senior day, No.8 MIT defeats Salve Regina 9-0

Salve Regina honors Graysen Scherer, Casey Farrell, Ellysa Tancrede and Alexa Stevens.

NEWPORT, R.I. (Saturday, April 27, 2024) - The Salve Regina University women's tennis team played its last match of the 2024 spring season against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Engineers and yielded 9-0 at the Antone Academic Center.

Salve Regina celebrated senior day by honoring the four graduating members of the class of 2024: Graysen Scherer, Casey Farrell, Ellysa Tancrede and Alexa Stevens.

At No. 2 doubles the pair of Madigan Murphy and Sadie Rieg finished 8-3 against the visiting Engineers. At No. 1 singles Alexa Stevens went 6-1, 6-0 across two sets and at No.6 singles Ellysa Tancrede posted a competitive 6-3 first set against Sophia Min of MIT.
