NEWPORT, R.I. (Sunday, August 18, 2024)-- Salve Regina University men's cross country enters their second year in the NEWMAC and faces a season of eight total races, including two championship events.
Among the returners are sophomore,
Gianni Soucy (Easthampton, Mass,), junior
Dillon Coblentz (Chouteau, Okla.) and senior
Ty Gallagher (Goffstown, NH). In 2023, his first season as a Seahawk, Soucy set a personal best in the last race of the season, The NCAA Division III Mideast Region Cross Country Championships, with a time of 32:12.6 for 8k. Coblentz saw his 8k PR at the Brown Bear Invitational in 30:31.7. Gallagher's personal record of 29:58.2 for 8k came at the UMDartmouth Cross Country Invitational.
The season will begin on Friday, August 30, when the team travels to the Wellesley Invitational at the Nehoiden Golf Club. This will be followed by Trinity Invite on Saturday, September 7, in Manchester, Connecticut at Wickham Park.
The UMass Dartmouth Invitational, the Brown Bear Invitational and the Westfield State University Meet, which were on the schedule in 2023, will once again appear in the lineup for men's cross country. The season will conclude with the NEWMAC Championships and the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championship.
