NEWPORT, R.I. (Monday, August 4, 2025) --The Suffolk Short Course Classic on Saturday, August 30, at Highland Park in Attleboro, Massachusetts will launch the Salve Regina University men's cross country team into action for the
2025 season.
The Seahawks will travel across New England for the first six of their seven-race season. Following the Short Course Classic, men's cross country will race at the Trinity Invitational at Wickham Park in Manchester, Connecticut on Saturday, September 6. Salve will attend the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on September 20, and the Keene State Invitational on October 4.

Kacie Gallo '08. "He was the team's top runner in all races last year. The men are looking to make an improvement on their ninth place conference finish last fall. Returners

Dillon Coblentz will be joined by incoming freshmen
Cole Smith and
Carson Lau to complete the men's lineup."
Ruffler led the Seahawks at the 2024 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championship when he crossed the 8k finish line in 29:52.50, his second fastest time of the year. He set a PR of 29:29.6 earlier in the season at the NEWMAC Championships.
"The Suffolk Short Course Classic held at Highland Park in August, the location for NEWMAC Championships, will be a preview for the conference meet and the men's and women's cross country teams can look ahead to their end of season goals," added coach Gallo.
