Kyle Crawford (Severna Park, Md.) converted a rebound for the game's only goal in the 81st minute as the Salve Regina University men's soccer team defeated Rhode Island College, 1-0, in the first meeting between the two programs since 2002.

Adonis Santiago (Oakdale, Conn.) made eight saves overall, six in the second half, including a penalty kick by
Luizandro Sanches (Pawtucket, R.I.) in the 77th minute.

History:Â Tonight is the 15th meeting all-time between Salve Regina and Rhode Island College in men's soccer and first in 23 years. The Anchormen lead the series, 6-5-4, which had produced 14 contests in 17 years (1986 through 2002). This is the first meeting between the two programs at Toppa Field. Salve scored a season-high five goals in its last game on the home turf, 5-0 over Mass Maritime.
