NEWPORT, R.I. (Thursday, October 9, 2025) - Salve Regina University women's tennis hosted six other schools in the annual event on the historic grass courts of the International Tennis Hall of Fame on Thursday afternoon. The Seahawks welcomed Bridgewater State University, Colby-Sawyer College, Gordon College, Roger Williams University, Salem State University, and Wheaton College on Thursday afternoon.

Seahawk interim head coach Casey Farrell '23 says her team dedicated their efforts in today's event to the memory of former head coach Bruce Levine, who passed away unexpectedly on August 24 when the squad was returning to campus for its pre-season. "'Clash on the Grass' was one of the last things Coach and I were working on together so I appreciate our participating teams, and the Hall of Fame staff (which had included Bruce Levine the last four years), for helping to make this day special after our original date (September 25) was rained out."

Another former head coach, Dr. Paul Cardoza, started this annual event 41 years ago.
