WORCESTER, Mass. -- Salve Regina University football ended its 2025 season with a 45-9 victory over Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Saturday afternoon at
H.Carr Field at Alumni Stadium.
Salve Regina struck first on a 48-yard touchdown pass from wide receiver Kyle Crampton (Merrimack, N.H.) to Jacoby Smith (Middletown, R.I.) midway through the opening quarter. Moments later, the Seahawks capitalized on a WPI fumble, as Marco Soto (Wayne, N.J.) returned the recovery 19 yards for a score to make it 14-0.
The visitors extended their lead in the second quarter when Justan Luzzi (Belleville, N.J.) capped a 13-play, 70-yard drive with a three-yard touchdown run.
WPI answered before the break, as Nathan Napier connected on a 27-yard field goal to make it 21-3 at halftime.
Luzzi broke free for a 71-yard touchdown on the first play of the third quarter, and Thomas Fallon (Freehold, N.J.) followed with a nine-yard scoring pass to Thomas Gangi (Livingston, N.J.) to push the margin to 35-3.
In the fourth, Nathan DiRado (Carver, Mass.) added a 28-yard field goal before Fallon and Smith linked up again, this time for a 43-yard touchdown to make it 45-3. Aedan McDermott's strike to Ty Csencsits in the closing seconds provided the final margin.
A balanced Salve Regina attack totaled 407 yards of offense, led by Fallon, who completed 17-of-22 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns. Luzzi rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns, while Smith caught seven passes for 131 yards and two scores. Crampton added seven receptions.
On defense, James Minotti (Bedford Hills, N.Y.) collected eight tackles, and Marc Promutico (East Patchogue, N.Y.) forced a fumble. Marcues Jean-Jacques (New Canaan, Conn.) added an interception, and Jesse Hayes (Plymouth, Mass.) contributed a sack as the Seahawks held WPI to 186 total yards.
