Seahawks conquer No. 13 Polar Bears

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Salve Regina University men's ice hockey overcame a 2-0 deficit to beat No. 13 Bowdoin College 4-2 at the Sidney J. Watson Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Karsten Kruska scored the Seahawks first goal of the evening, his third goal of the season, three minutes into the second quarter. Kruska's goal triggered a 4-0 run for the Salve Regina with Aidan ConnollyCade DeStefani and Matthew Brunton all finding the back of the net. The Polar Bears pulled their goalie from the ice at the 17:38 mark in the third period but the Seahawks successfully held off the host 4-2.

History: The Seahawks are 2-8 all-time against Bowdoin. Salve Regina won 7-3 when the teams last saw each other on January 9, 2024. Following a 1-0 deficit Jonathan Hammel got the Seahawks on the board early in the second period. Logan Calder scored the game winning goal less than one minute into the third period.

  • Selby Warren made 20 saves and served the entire game in goal for the Seahawks.
ON THE HORIZON
Men's ice hockey will travel to Tampa, Fla., to play at the Tampa College Hockey Invitational January 1-2, 2026. The Seahawks face Tufts University on Thursday, January 1, at 7:30 p.m. and SUNY Geneseo on Friday, January 2, with the same start time.
