Margoupis' 32 points pace Seahawks in NEWMAC win against Engineers

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Junior forward Jack Margoupis (Sutton, Mass.) scored 20 of his game-high 32 points in the second half as Salve Regina University men's basketball rallied for a 68-54 victory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in NEWMAC action at the Rockwell Cage in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The Seahawks (7-1, 1-0 NEWMAC) open their New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference slate with their third victory over the Engineers (4-6, 0-2 NEWMAC) in the last three seasons.

Margoupis made five 3-pointers while Pat Spenard (Rochester, Mass.) drained two and Jack McMullen (East Greenwich, R.I.) had one from long range for the Seahawks. Michael Zhang led the hosts with 17 points including three of their seven behind the arc. Wyatt Mowery had a double-double for the Engineers with a game-high 10 rebounds and matching that number with 10 points.
