#2 Seahawks thwart Saints 7-3, Tobin earns first career save

AUBURNDALE, Fla.- Salve Regina University baseball batted in three runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed in the Seahawks 7-3 victory over the Marymount Saints.

With two outs in the top of the first Christian Homa tripled down the right field line and Evan O'Rourke's single at the next at bat brought Homa home for the first run of the day. The Saints would come back with a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth and a pair of stolen bases to make it a close 4-3 game but Matthew Neal's single in the top of the seventh inning brought two runs in. Shane Williams' triple in the top of the ninth sealed the deal for Salve Regina. All of the Seahawks scoring took place with two outs recorded in the inning.

Freshman right-handed pitcher James Tobin recorded his first save in the Seahawk Uniform after entering the game in the bottom of the sixth inning when the score was 4-2. Tobin successfully kept the Saints' bats quiet, only allowing one run to cross the plate.
