MILTON, Mass. (Tuesday, March 4, 2025)-- An 11-goal second half for the visiting Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team was the nail in the coffin for the hosting Curry College Colonels in the Seahawks non conference 18-5 triumph.

History: Beginning with the 2006 season men's lacrosse has a 18-2 win-loss record against Curry. In 2023, the last time the Seahawks and Colonels met during the regular season, Salve Regina cruised to an 18-7 win. Rich Gneiding '23M scored five goals, followed by Liam Cooney, who had four.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The home team used the energy of a home crowd to score first, but Casey Johnson and Daniel Naglieri answered for the Seahawks with two back to back goals in the first 15 minutes. Curry kept the game close, tying it 2-2 with a goal at the one minute remaining mark in the first quarter.
- It didn't take long for Salve Regina's 4-1 record heading in to the game to show when the Seahawks netted five goals in the second quarter and and seven in the third quarter.
- Casey Johnson scored within 15 seconds of the second quarter beginning which triggered a four-goal Seahawk run. Daniel Naglieri scored his third and fourth goals of the evening before the second half began. Chris Koltzan extended the Seahawks lead 7-3 before the first 30 minutes of action closed out.
- Chris Koltzan went on to open the second half with two more goals, bringing him to 17 goals on the season as the Seahawks leading goal scorer.
- Nate Strassberger, Nicholas Bailey, Ryan Ciolfi, Alfred Miklos, Kyle Engen and Ryan Tighe all secured their first goals in the Seahawk uniform in the second half of the encounter.
- Salve Regina picked up 37 ground balls and was dominant in the face off circle, going 15-11.
- The Seahawks outshot the Colonels 48-22.
- Goalies Andrew Hazard and Connor Matthews combined for a total ten saves.
- Gavin Johnson had the Seahawks game-high three caused turnovers.

th quarters. It was great to have four newcomers score their first collegiate goal and many players get into box score for the first time ever."
