MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (Saturday, April 5, 2025)-- Heath Sumwalt, Salve Regina men's lacrosse freshman midfielder, led the Seahawks in scoring with four goals in the team's 14-8 loss on the road to No.20 Babson College in NEWMAC action.
Babson scored the first goal of the game just over three minutes into the game but Daniel Naglieri tied it 1-1 with 10 minutes to play in the first quarter. The Beavers found the back of the net four more times in the opening period but not without Sumwalt securing his first points of the evening at the 3:10 mark.
By the start of the second half Babson led 9-4 but Chris Koltzan, Liam Cooney and Sumwalt all added in to keep the visitors moving forward.
The Beavers led 14-6 with eight minutes left but Cooney and Sumwalt had the final two goals of the game to decrease Babson's lead to 14-8.

History: When Salve Regina lost 18-9 in 2024 it was the first meeting between the Seahawks and Beavers in men's lacrosse since 2011. When the teams first met on March 11, 2009, Salve Regina picked up their only victory against Babson with a 9-5 win.
NOTEWORTHY
- Andrew Hazard made 12 saves in net for the Seahawks.
- Salve Regina won 11-24 faceoffs with Justin Haverly going 12-20.
- Haverly, Andrew Senecal and Gavin Johnson each picked up five ground balls. Johnson also caused five turnovers.
- Babson outshot Salve Regina 26-19.
- Both teams were unable to capitalize on extra man opportunities with Salve Regina goin 0-4 and Babson going 0-2.
