NEWPORT, R.I. (Thursday, April 17, 2025) -- #15/#16 Salve Regina University baseball won its fourth straight with a 15-10 final against visiting Rhode Island College in non-league action at Reynolds Field on Thursday afternoon in Newport.

Matt Stokes had a three-run homer in the fifth to go along with another extra-base hit (double) while scoring four times. Grady Schopps entered as a pinch-runner in the bottom of the third and went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and three RBI.

Nolan Romanowski (W, 2-0) pitched two and two-thirds innings in relief with no earned runs while striking out four Anchormen. Andrew Wertz (S, 6) struck out three of the five batters he faced for his sixth save of the season.

History: Today marks the 35th meeting on the baseball diamond between Salve Regina and Rhode Island College. The Seahawks have won the last six in a row and eight of the last nine (8-0-1) since 2013. The Seahawks' five-game win streak is the longest in the series since the Anchormen opened with wins in the first 10 meetings (1984-1994). Salve Regina scored a rain-shortened, six-inning victory at Rhode Island College, 4-1, in non-league action at Pontarelli Field last year.
