Hovsepyan named New England Division II-III All-Star

NEWPORT, R.I.-- Salve Regina University men's ice hockey freshman Arvega Hovsepyan (Glendale, Calif.) has been named a 2024-25 New England Division II-III Men's All-Star forward by The New England Hockey Writers Association. 

Hovsepyan joins an elite group of just 11 DII-III forwards and 20 athletes total. 

"We are pleased to announce that Arvega has received the prestigious New England All-Star recognition," remarked head men's ice hockey coach Zech Klann. "As an organization, we are thrilled for him to witness his dedication and excellence both on the ice and in the academic setting being acknowledged with such a distinguished honor."

In his first year as a member of the Salve Regina program Hovsepyan topped the New England Hockey Conference regular season total points category with 36 and assists category with 28. He appeared in all 26 games and was added to the NEHC Second Team All-Conference and the All-Rookie Team. Hovsepyan was also selected as a semifinalist for the 24th Joe Concannon Award by the The Gridiron Club of Greater Boston. 

During the 2024-25 season Hovsepyan picked up two weekly honors. The first, Rookie of the Week, he garnered for October 28-November 3, 2024. He was later named Player of the Week for December 30, 2024-January 5, 2025.
