KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Salve Regina University women's soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year it was announced by the USC.
The award, initiated in the 1997-98 academic year, honors soccer teams that maintain a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for the recently completed academic year.
The Seahawks earned an impressive team GPA of 3.58 for the 2024-25 academic year and boasted 17 student-athletes with a 3.5 or better GPA. The Seahawks earn the accolade for the third straight year from the USC and their GPA ranks them among the top 20 percent (19.9%) in NCAA Division III.
"Our team really takes academics to another level," says fourth-year Seahawk head coach Tanya Roberts. "Yes, we compete on the field but also care about being the best in the classroom. Once they leave Salve, they are prepared for the next stage of their life whether it be more schooling or a career path.
