NEWPORT, R.I. (Monday, August 4, 2025) -- The Salve Regina University women's cross country team has released their
seven-race 2025 slate starting off with the Suffolk Short Course Classic on Saturday, August 30, at Highland Park in Attleboro, Massachusetts.
The Seahawks get right to work with their first contest in August and two more in September. In the second race of the season women's cross country will travel to Manchester, Connecticut for the Trinity Invitational, hosted by Trinity college on Saturday, September 6. Next up will be the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 20.Â
"The women's cross country team is looking to improve their tenth place finish at the NEWMAC meet this season," remarked head women's cross country coach
Kacie Gallo '08. "The women's team will be led by returning junior top two runners:
Isabella Hastings and
Anna Weygang. In addition, sophomore returner
Christia Assi and juniors
Catherine Minegar and
Ava Dexter are all strong contenders for the top seven line up. The Seahawks will also be looking to incoming freshmen
Hannah Tadros,
Delaney Roache and
Keira Sehl Albert to step in to round out the top ten.
The 2025 season will mark the Seahawks' third year as a member of the NEWMAC. Salve will race at the conference championships on Saturday, November 1, at Highland Park. The meet will be hosted by Wheaton College.
