Seahawks outshoot Lasers 32-7 in 4-1 win over Lasers

NEWTON, Mass. -- (Wednesday, September 10, 2025)-- Georgia Costello scored twice and Molly Kearney secured her first goal of the season, her second career goal, in Salve Regina University field hockey's 4-1 non conference success over Lasell University on the road.

Kearny got the scoring started for the visiting Seahawks 11:34 into the first quarter, with an assist from freshman Elliot Lund, who currently totals three goals and four assists on the year. Costello's first goal came 50 seconds into the second quarter but Lasers Mara Boldy pulled Lasell within one of Salve just as the clock expired on the first half of play.

Salve Regina maintained composure in the one-goal-game throughout a scoreless third quarter. With the help of Julia Decker who scored a minute into the final frame and Costello with her second goal of the evening, the Seahawks reestablished a decisive 4-1 lead.

QUOTABLE SEAHAWKS
"Impressed with the way we responded today. When the game got close at 2-1, we didn't panic-we kept fighting and took control back. We finished strong, and that's the kind of mentality we'll need all season."

- Head field hockey coach Jennifer Foster
