NEWPORT, R.I. -- (Tuesday, September 30, 2025)-- In their third NEWMAC contest of the Season Salve Regina University yielded 3-1 to Emerson College at the Rodgers Recreation Center Tuesday night.
The visitor was quick to take the lead and hold on to it in set one but in the second set Salve claimed the first two points with Lauren Hoyle's kill starting the action. The Seahawks overcame a 16-9 deficit and pulled even with the Lyons to go back-and-forth until the teams reached 23-23. Anouk Jansen and Hoyle each tallied a kill to decide set two 25-23 in favor of Salve. Sets three and four, both 25-19 verdicts, were equally fast-paced. The host built an early lead in the fourth set but the Lions had established a 2-1 game advantage and used that momentum to win 3-1.
