Seahawks overpower Eagles, Huskies 3-0 at Southern Maine tri-match

GORHAM, Maine. -- (Saturday, September 6, 2025)-- Salve Regina University women's volleyball did not slip a single set in their 3-0 victories over University of Southern Maine and Husson University in the Huskies tri-match, the Seahawks first tri-match of the season.

Salve Regina secured a sizable lead in each set against the Huskies and limited them to just 10 points in the opening frame. In the Husson matchup the Seahawks never let the Eagles exceed 18 points.

History: The Seahawks and Eagles have met once before today's contest. On September 16, 2023, Salve beat Husson 3-0 as part of a tri-match held by Regis College.

  • Salve Regina had 40 kills for 56 total points while the Eagles only saw 15 for 29 points.
  • The Seahawks were dominant with a hitting percentage of .347.
  • Lauren Shurling had the game high of 11 kills.
  • Lily Dobbins and Kira Baker each saw two service aces.

ON THE HORIZON:
