Seahawks abnegate home NEWMAC contest to Engineers

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. -- Daniella Bruno had a two-goal night for the Salve Regina University women's lacrosse team but Massachusetts Institute of Technology got ahead early to secure a 20-4 NEWMAC conference win at Gaudet Field Wednesday night.

Madison Maire was the first Seahawk to strike, breaking a 4-0 start the game for MIT. The Engineers went on a scoring run across the second and third periods and it was Alix Madden who put a stop to the visitor's momentum early in the third frame. The Engineers lead 16-2 heading into the fourth quarter, yet Bruno managed two strikes for the host before the clock ran out.
