#3 Salve Regina wins 12th straight with 3-2 decision at Eastern Connecticut

Danny Rogers doubles in tying run and scores go-ahead run in sixth

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (March 26, 2026) -- Third-ranked Salve Regina University baseball (12-1) defeated Eastern Connecticut State University (11-3) by a 3-2 score on Thursday afternoon at Holowaty Family Field in non-league action. Seahawk sophomore center fielder Danny Rogers (New Canaan, Conn.) doubled in the tying run in the sixth after Shane Williams (Georgetown, Mass.) had led off the inning with a double and moved to third on a groundout. Rogers came home with the go-ahead score moments later when Grady Schopps (Fairfield, Conn.) was plunked by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Six Seahawk pitchers worked the nine innings and scattered nine hits to the Warriors. Luis Ortiz Ramirez (East Boston, Mass.) went 3.1 innings and earned the win; Kyle Carozza (Fairfield, Conn.) finished the game with nine pitches to two batters to get a flyout and ground out for his second save.

Rogers has hit safely in all 13 games this season for the Seahawks who were outhit by the Warriors, 9-to-6. Rogers, Shea Donovan (Milton, Mass.), and Elliot Hamilton (Glastonbury, Conn.) have reached base safely in all 13 games this season.

With two outs in the bottom of the fourth, Ian Moser (Bellingham, Mass.) gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead with a homer to left field.

Salve Regina went on top in the sixth after starter Joseph Barlovic (Bergenfeld, N.J.) left after tossing five shutout innings. In the Seahawk eighth, Evan O'Rourke (Arlington, Mass.) led off with a single to third. Rogers followed with his second base hit and Hamilton walked to load the bases. Dylan Cimini (Stonington, Conn.) delivered an insurance run with a sacrifice fly to center.

Today was the fifth victory all-time for the Seahawks against the Warriors and the third in the Warriors' home state.

Salve Regina returns to NEWMAC competition with a doubleheader against Wheaton College on Sunday, March 29, on FloCollege.
