Seahawks outpaced by Buccaneers, 17-9

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass.-- The Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team lost 17-9 in non conference action to Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Wednesday at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Although the Seahawks led 3-1 midway through the first quarter, thanks to goals from Daniel NaglieriHeath Sumwalt and Christopher Bethoney, it was the only lead the visitor would hold throughout the encounter. The Buccaneers went on a four-goal streak between the first and second quarters and did not trail again.

Face off specialist Adam Laber added to the Seahawks' scoring with a goal at the six minute mark of the second quarter. It was Laber's first goal as a FOGO.

Robert Zdrojeski iii netted his third collegiate goal in the third period. Naglieri, Chris Koltzan and Aidan McIntyre all did their part in an effort to decrease the deficit but the visiting Seahawks were never quite able to pull even with the Buccaneers.
