SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-- Salve Regina men's lacrosse junior goalie Griffin Caiozzo made a season high 20 saves in one game in the Seahawks back-and-forth battle with hosting Springfield College when the Pride pulled ahead 12-10 in the last five minutes of action.
Heath Sumwalt and Daniel Naglieri gave Salve Regina an early 2-0 lead but the Pride answered with four goals of their own before they were halted by Naglieri, with his second goal of the game. Going into the second half Springfield had a 4-2 advantage.
The Seahawks battled through the third period with tallies from Ryan Bothe, Casey Johnson, and another from Naglieri. With 15 minutes remaining in regulation it was knotted at 8-8. The host and visitor matched each other goal for goal to make it 10-10 but the Pride found late momentum to pot two as the clock ticked down to clam the win.

Salve advances to the NEWMAC postseason as the No. 4 seed after today's loss to the No. 2 seed Springfield College. The Seahawks will host the No. 5 seeded United States Coast Guard Academy on Tuesday, April 28, at 7 p.m. at Gaudet Field.
