NEWPORT, R.I. (April 29, 2026) --
Elliot Hamilton's (Glastonbury, Conn.) two-run single set the stage early in the first inning on Salve Regina University baseball's way to an 8-2 win over non conference opponent UMass Boston on Wednesday afternoon at Reynolds Field.
Before the first inning was completeÂ
Dylan Cimini's (Stonington, Conn.) double drove in another run andÂ
Shea Donovan's (Milton, Mass.)Â single to right center brought Cimini home to establish an early 4-0 lead.
In the second inning Cimini posted an RBI single andÂ
Jake Harring's (Portsmouth, N.H.) single to right field allowed another par of runs to cross home plate.Â
A sacrifice fly and an RBI single got UMass Boston on the board in the third inning but the Seahawks pitching staff was unwavering and answered by keeping the Beacons bats quiet the remainder of the game.
Overall the Seahawks had one extra-base hit (off the bat of Cimini) and six stolen bases, led by
Shane Williams (Georgetown, Mass.) with three.
Starting pitcherÂ
Jakob Oliver (Ramsey, N.J.) picked up his first career win and combined with a solid Seahawk pitching staff ofÂ
Hunter Alten (Chatham, Mass.),
LJ Keevan (Holden, Mass.),
Connor Toriello (North Berwick, Maine.),Â
Dominic Carollo (West Warwick, R.I.),
Ethan Santerre (Bristol, R.I.) and closer
Sean Mulligan (Verona, N.J.) on the mound.
The Seahawks will face Emerson College on Saturday, May 2 in Waltham, Mass. Game one of the doubleheader begins at 12 p.m. Watch the action live onÂ
