NEWPORT, R.I.-- The Salve Regina University women's volleyball program will enter the 2026 season, its fourth season in the NEWMAC conference, with alumna Katelyn Beaubrook '15, as the team's new head coach.  

Beaubrook returns to Salve after most recently serving as an assistant coach with Brown University women's volleyball. While at Brown, she helped guide the Bears to a .588 winning percentage, and back-to-back berths to the Ivy League Tournament. She also coached the two-time Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year and eight All-Ivy selections. 

"We are all very excited to welcome Katelyn back to Salve," said Salve Regina director of athletics, Dr. Sean Sullivan. "It is always rewarding to see an alum choosing to return to our campus to lead the next generation of Seahawk student-athletes. This return speaks not only to how much Salve must mean to Coach Beaubrook, but it also promotes a very special narrative. Katelyn has coached at highly successful Division III programs, has experience within the NEWMAC, and has worked with student-athletes of the highest academic and athletic caliber. She is uniquely qualified to lead our program and create this next chapter of Seahawk volleyball." 

Prior to Brown, Beaubrook spent time as an assistant coach at Bucknell University where, in addition to her coaching duties, she held the role of recruiting coordinator, responsible for recruiting players on both a national and international scale. From November 2019 to February 2020, as the Division I Patriot League program experienced a change at head coach, she was asked to serve as the team's interim head coach, solely handling all facets of the program including budgeting, scheduling, and recruiting. 

"I'm so grateful to be back at Salve Regina," said Beaubrook. "This place has always felt like home to me, so the opportunity to return as head volleyball coach truly feels like a full-circle moment. I want to sincerely thank Sean Sullivan and the entire hiring committee for their confidence in me and the opportunity to return to Salve to lead this program." 

Beaubrook graduated from Salve Regina with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and went on to earn her master's in athletic counseling from NEWMAC rival Springfield College in 2017. As a Seahawk, she was instrumental in the program earning its first-ever ECAC New England Championship in 2014. Throughout her Salve playing career, Beaubrook garnered three All-Conference Team honors and four All-Academic Team Honors.   

In 2014, Beaubrook was named the Rhode Island Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Distinguished Athlete of the Year and was awarded the Salve Regina Chris Kiernan Scholar-Athlete Award, presented to the senior athlete with the highest GPA.  

While serving as a graduate assistant coach at Springfield, she helped the Pride to a 31-4 record and NCAA Sweet 16 appearance, mentoring an offense that led the nation in hitting percentage (.295). In 2016, she assisted the Pride to a 29-6 record and their second straight NCAA Sweet 16. Immediately following her years in Western Massachusetts, Beaubrook served as an assistant coach at fellow Division III institution, Albion College (MI), between 2017 and 2019. 

Beaubrook's background in athletic counseling has given her experience engaging in individual counseling sessions and running workshops regarding mental skills topics such as team building, stress management, goal setting, career development, mental toughness and imagery. She has mentored athletes through facing injury and assessing their mental readiness to return to sport.  

"More than anything, I can't wait to build meaningful relationships with our student-athletes and create a culture where they feel supported, challenged, and inspired to become the best versions of themselves," remarked Beaubrook. "I'm especially grateful that Salve won't just be home to me again, but a place my family gets to call home, too. I'm incredibly excited about this next chapter of Salve Volleyball." 

The Seahawks and coach Beaubrook will make their 2026 season debut on Tuesday, September 1, at Roger Williams University.
