NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. —The Salve Regina University field hockey team shutout UMass Dartmouth, 3-0, at Cressy Field Tuesday night in nonconference action thanks to three different Seahawk goal scorers.
Salve got right to work with the first goal coming just 59 seconds into the contest. Elliot Lund (Beverly, Mass.) found the back of the cage to give the Seahawks an early 1-0 advantage. The Seahawks continued to dictate play in the second quarter, generating 10 shots and four penalty corners while keeping the Corsairs without a shot. UMass Dartmouth managed just one shot before halftime, while Salve headed into the break with a one-goal lead.
Four minutes into the third quarter Grace Warnick (Clark, N.J.) doubled the Seahawks' advantage, converting a chance set up by Catie Bell (Ridgefield, Conn.). Just three minutes and 29 seconds later, Bell added a goal of her own, putting Salve ahead 3-0 and firmly taking control of the contest.

NOTEWORTHY:
- The Seahawks' attack was led by Lund, who produced an outstanding 11 shots and nine shots on goal, both team highs. Jordyn Pineau (South Dennis, Mass.) added eight shots, while Bell finished with four shots and contributed a goal and an assist. Warnick also found the scoresheet with a goal.
- The Seahawks generated 29 shots, including 18 on goal, compared with just one shot for UMass Dartmouth. Salve also earned 14 penalty corners while allowing only one, consistently keeping play in the attacking end.

On Saturday, September 19, field hockey will be on the road at Springfield College at 4 p.m. for their conference opener.
