NEWPORT, R.I. (Wednesday, September 23, 2026) -- Freshman forward
Sienna Mastroianni (Whitinsville, Mass.) scored goals in the first and second halves for Salve Regina University women's soccer in non-league action against Johnson & Wales University as the Seahawks (3-1-3) defeated the Wildcats (2-5-1), 2-0, at Toppa Field in Newport on Wednesday evening.
Salve Regina improves to 7-2 all-time in its series with Johnson & Wales; series began in 1995.
Mastroianni took a long feed from classmate
Tori Spadavecchio (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) in the 27th minute. She added an insurance tally eight minutes into the second half with a similarly long pass from
Paige Jessuck (Waterbury, Conn.). Mastroianni equals senior captain
Carah Leclair (Bellingham, Mass.) for the team lead in points (8).

Sabrina Lawless (Milford, Conn.) made four saves for her second consecutive shutout. The Wildcats featured a pair of goalkeepers --Â
Ava Vaughan (New Boston, Mass.) got the start in goal and was lifted in favor of first-year
Samantha Rodes (Niantic, Conn.) at the start of the second half. Each keeper recorded one save.
The hosts outshot the visitors, 10-to-7, while both squad put four balls on frame. Lawless' defensive four -- captain
Allie Gallagher (Staten Island, N.Y.),
Maddie Hudson (Nahant, Mass.),
Eilish McGowan (Wrentham, Mass.), and
Ellie Snoke (Nashua, N.H.) -- played the entire 90 minutes.Â
