Mastroianni hat trick helps Seahawks to 4-1 win over Anchorwomen

Salve Regina wins fourth straight; extends unbeaten streak to six games

NEWPORT, R.I. (September 30, 2026) -- Freshman forward Sienna Mastroianni (Whitinsville, Mass.) scored three goals (one in first half, two in second half) for Salve Regina University women's soccer in non-league action against Rhode Island College as the Seahawks (5-1-3) defeated the Anchorwomen (7-3), 4-1, at Toppa Field in Newport on Wednesday evening.

The first-year Seahawk has scored six goals in the last three games for the Seahawks who have won their last four and are unbeaten in the last six.

Mastroianni made the score 1-0 in the first four minutes of the contest (3:54) and that advantage held until sophomore Alexandra Epright (Middletown, Conn.) converted a pass from senior captain Allie Gallagher (Staten Island, N.Y.) in the 41st minute for a 2-0 lead at intermission.

The Seahawks doubled their lead in the first 10 minutes of the second half when Mastroianni drilled a long feed from Paige Jessuck (Waterford, Conn.) at 49:50 and then maneuvered around an Anchorwomen defender to scorch a shot into the net at 54:21.

Senior Rylan Tinjum (Franktown, Colo.) came off the bench in the second half and kept attacking with headers and finally connected after a corner kick feed from Talia Cost (Smithfield, R.I.) in the 87th minute.

Salve Regina keeper Sabrina Lawless (Milford, Conn.) made stops on all five shots that came her way during 80-plus minutes between the posts. Molly Fox (Stoughton, Mass.) earned her second stint in net and caught a direct blast off the foot of Addison Strom (Wakefield, R.I.). Nicole Nunes (Smithfield, R.I.) had nine saves for the Anchorwomen.
