Steven Phillips

Phillips joins the Seahawk baseball staff in September 2021.

A California native, Steven Phillips began his coaching career in 2017 when joining Hope International University working with their infielders and hitters. In 2017, the Royals won their first-ever regular-season conference championship in only their second year of program history. The same year they won their regional and made it to the College World Series in Lewiston, Idaho. The next year HIU made it back to their second straight conference tournament championship. In 2019, he took over the recruiting coordinator job. They won the conference tournament championship and made it back to a regional. He has spent four consecutive summers coaching for Yarmouth Dennis in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League.

"Coach Phillips has been a tremendous addition to our coaching staff. He is very knowledgeable and shows up everyday and works his tail off on and off the field. He has coached at a very high level for a few years and brings so much to our coaching staff. He has already cleaned up a lot of issues we've had with our defense. He is organized and demands communication and accountability with the players. He has been awesome working with the hitters and the offense and speaking our language. I can't say enough good things about him. We are fortunate to have him on staff and I really think he fits what we are trying to do with the program as a whole." - Salve Regina head coach Eric Cirella '05
