Scots scott by Seahawks,1-0

Box Score

WENHAM, Mass. - The Gordon men's soccer team won 1-0 over Salve Regina in a gritty performance in driving rain at the Brigham Athletic Complex. The win concludes the regular season for the Scots, as they finish TCCC play with an 8-5 record, and stand at 9-8 overall. The visiting Seahawks finish the regular season with a mark of 8-4-1 in conference play, and are 11-6-1 overall.

Junior forward Matt Horth scored the only goal of the match. The goal came in the 26th minute, as Horth headed a corner kick from freshman midfielder Kellen Kasiguran for his team-leading seventh goal of the season.

The steady rain and slippery conditions made it difficult for both teams to obtain quality scoring chances. Salve Regina managed only three shots on net and Gordon's freshman goalkeeper Ryan Coil was up to the task, posting his fourth shutout of the season and moving to 6-2 in net for the Scots.

The Seahawks senior goalkeeper Kurt Ginthwain (Tolland, Conn.)also had a strong performance, with three saves. Ginthwain was kept busy by Horth, who fired a match-high fourth shots on goal.

The two teams will await their playoff pairings as TCCC play comes to an end.
