Summary
NEWPORT, R.I. (October 12, 2019) -- Freshman Sam Winiarski (Westfield, Mass.) scored first and second-half goals, his fourth and fifth of the season, to lead Salve Regina University men's soccer (7-3-3, 2-0-2 CCC) past visiting University of New England (6-5-2, 0-3-0 CCC) in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Toppa Field. The Seahawks celebrated Senior Day for four of its members in the Class of 2020 - Owen Kraft (Tenafly, N.J.), Evan MacDonald (Candia, N.H.), Noah Medeiros (Dartmouth, Mass.), and Dana Sundell (Nantucket, Mass.).

Winiarski has scored three goals in three days, and his five goals have come in his last six games played. Today's game winner came after a corner kick from Evan MacDonald reached junior captain Casey Kelly (Waldwick, N.J.) who blasted with his left foot off the right post and it caromed to Winiarski in front of the middle of the goal. He capitalized for the first goal of the day.
