MILTON, Mass. (February 14, 2022) - Salve Regina University junior captain Megan Henaghan (Hanson, Mass.) led four Seahawks in double figures during a 70-51 road victory against Curry College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball action at Katz Gymnasium on Monday evening.

The opening quarter was very much in the favor of the visiting Seahawks. A 23-9 lead through the first ten minutes gave Salve a comfortable lead heading into the second period of play. Salve was led by their two forwards in the opening quarter; Megan Henaghan (Hanson, Mass.) and Ashley Rourke (Londonderry, N.H.) combined for 11.

The Colonels got in a groove midway through the second quarter, Kathryn Dunn (Hanson, Mass.) tallying two threes. The Colonels would outscore the Seahawks 13-11 in the second quarter, heading into half trailing by 12.

Both sides came out of the half with intensity, keeping the contest close. Curry's Dunn saw two more shots drop from beyond the arc as Kristyanna Remillard (Abington, Mass.) went 4-4 from the line and recorded a shot from the field as well. Salve's 19 points to Curry's 17 allowed the visitors to hold the lead entering the final quarter of regulation.

Curry's Lily Gray marked eight points with two threes in the final quarter to no avail. The visiting Seahawks continued their consistent scoring while holding off the Colonel's attacking efforts. The Salve Regina Seahawks would take the contest by a final score of 70-51.

The Seahawks were led by Megan Henaghan (16 pts, 7 reb, 5 ast), Ashley Rourke (11 pts, 7 reb), and Morgan Shuey (Corning, Iowa) (11 pts, 7 reb, 6 ast).

The Colonels were led by Kathryn Dunn (20 pts, 13 reb), Kristyanna Remillard (11 pts, 7 reb), and Lily Gray (10 pts, 8 reb).
