BABSON PARK, Mass. (Friday, November 15, 2024)-- Salve Regina University men's ice hockey came from behind with a 3-2 disadvantage after the start of the third period to beat Babson College 5-3 with late goals from
Aidan Connolly and
Logan Calder.

History: Salve Regina is 1-4-0 against Babson in men's ice hockey. Tonight's meeting is the first since the 2009-10 season, where the Seahawks fell 5-1 at the Middlebury College Holiday Classic. Going into tonight's matchup the Beavers came off a 5-2 NEHC loss the No.9 Skidmore College while the Seahawks beat UMass Boston 7-1 last Sunday, November 10. With three goals and four assists for seven points last week
Jonathan Hammel was awarded NEHC Player of the Week.
NOTEWORTHY:
- The Seahawks were called for hooking, their only penalty in the first period, and the Beavers' Joseph Kramer took advantage of the extra skater opportunity to net Babson's first goal of the evening. Jonathan Hammel and Kaeden Tenkoppel both tallied goals in the first 20 minutes to give Salve Regina a 2-1 advantage going into the primary intermission.
- The Beavers' two consecutive goals, one to end the second period and another to start the third period, once again put them in the lead 3-2.
- The difference maker was two late goals from the Seahawks. Connolly and Calder both scored their fourth goals of the season in the third period, tying them as team leading goal scorers with Hammel.
- Seahawk goalie Cayden Bailey made 31 saves across 60 minutes. Beavers' Brett Cleaves made 21 saves during the 58:34 that he was on the ice.
